Birdman can easily end his legal battle with Lil Wayne. All he has to do is pay Weezy the money he’s owed and the rapper’s argument that his contract has been breached will no longer be valid, according to TMZ.
As we reported yesterday, Wayne is owed a total of $10 million for the recording of Tha Carter V. He was supposed to receive an $8 million advance when he began recording the album and an additional $2 million upon completion.
Wayne fulfilled his obligation, but was never paid a dime by Cash Money Records.
Universal, Cash Money’s distributor has gotten involved. They’re putting pressure on Birdman to cough up the money and end this dispute. Whether he will or not remains to be seen. Previous negotiations between lawyers for the two sides broke down, leaving Wayne no choice but to seek a legal remedy.
