Tigers come up short

Saturday, July 13th Coach Gilbert Wallace and Assistant Coach Claude Tshidnia, hosted a football contest against Virginia Silverbacks at Legion Stadium. The Wilmington Tigers ended up on the short end of this encounter.

Offensively for the Tigers, at the Quarter Back position was Richard Johnson. Offensive backs included Daquan Thompson, Peedie Byrd, Stephen Sidberry, Julian Thompson and Kitwana Jones add ends Jarron Spearman, Gregg Fields and Hugh Prentice. With all of their concerted efforts, the Silverbacks thwarted their efforts enough scores to win.

When on the offensive the silverbacks, Quarter Back assisted with running backs Boosie Collins, Damien Tyler, Gregg Baker, successfully advancing the ball. Add ends completing passes Boosie Collins, Rayshane Ward, Jeremy Wartelia, Ryshane Ward and Jonathan Carey was enough to score enough points to be the victors.

Defensively for the Silverbacks, Rayshard Brown, Terrence Smith, Curtis Johnson, Kevin Ivy, Macus Jackson, Bobby Bauler and Marcus Jackson made the going difficult for the Tigers.

Defensively for the Tigers- Domonique Dixon, Darius Daise, Dereese McDowell, Hostafa Daise, Jamel Conyers, Darryl Rattley, Corey Powell and Quincy Payne combined their efforts to hinder the Silverbacks advancement. All was not enough to prevent them from scoring enough points to win the contest.

Final Score Virginia Silverbacks 46- Wilmington 33. Come join us at home again this week July 27, Legion Stadium 7:00 p.m.
