New Hanover County

Bowens Chapel AME Zion Church, 5826 Carolina Beach Road, will celebrate their 122nd church Anniversary on Sunday, September 16th at 3:00 p.m. Dinner will be served at 2:00 p.m. following the morning service. The guest speaker will be Reverend John H. Brown of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church.

Central Missionary Baptist Church. 702 Red Cross Street, will hold their 3rd Pastoral anniversary celebration for Pastor Reverend Richard Robinson on Sunday, September 16th at 11:00 a.m. The guest speaker will be Reverend Tony Harrington of First Baptist Church, Magnolia, NC. The 3:00 p.m. guest speaker will be Reverend Gordon Griffin of Moore’s Creek, Currie, NC.

Chestnut Street Presbyterian Church’s Deacon Board will hold a fish fry at the church on Saturday, September 22nd from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Community Prayer House will hold deliverance revival Thursday, September 13th and Friday, September 14th at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The speaker will be Apostle Carolyn Bessent.

First Baptist Missionary Church, 520 North 5th Avenue, Sanctuary Choir will hold their pre- revival concert on Sunday, September 16th at 4:00 p.m. Revival will be held on Monday, September 17th- Wednesday, September 19th. Devotions will begin at 7:00 p.m. Revival will start at 7:30 p.m. The guest choirs include Warner Temple AMEZ choir on Monday, September 17th, Union Missionary Baptist choir on Tuesday, September 18th and Peter’s Tabernacle choir on Wednesday, September 19th.

Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 812 Harnett Street, will host their annual Beyond the Walls 2012 “Community Serving Community” event on Saturday, September 22nd from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. There will be free food, give-a-ways, free clothing, free health care checks and many more activities.

New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 504 South 6th Street, will hold classes “Gifts of the Holy Spirit” and “Baptism of the Holy Spirit” during the month of September and October every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. nightly. Classes will be taught each week by Minister Debora Ann Johnson. Class dates are September 19th, and 26th and October 3rd.

Old Scott’s Hill AME Church will hold their fall revival Wednesday, September 12th – Friday, September 14th at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The guest speaker will be Reverend Arthur Jenkins of Rockfish AME Church. The choirs will be Mt. Zion AME Church, St. John AME Church and Rockfish AME Church. Bladen County

Baldwin Branch Baptist Church, 4047 NC 242 South, will hold their men’s conference “Christian Men Under Construction- Achieving Solidarity with the Savior.”   The conference will begin Friday, September 14th at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Louie Boykin of Union Grove Disciple of Christ Church. The conference will continue on Saturday, September 15th at 9:00 a.m. with breakfast and a health seminar. The speakers will be Reverend Leonard Harvey and Dr. Theodore Thomas. A musical program is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. The conference will conclude on Sunday, September 16th at 10:00 a.m. The speaker will be Pastor Louie Boykin.

Graham Chapel AME Zion Church will hold their annual Homecoming celebration on Sunday, September 16th at 3:00 p.m. The special guest will be Reverend Gregory Spaulding of Union Baptist Church in Lake Waccamaw, NC.
