Brian Theodus Grant, 32, of Wilmington, died Friday, July 27, 2012. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the International Longshore-mens Hall, 5th and Kidder Streets, Wilmington, NC. Burial followed in Calvary Memorial Cemetery, Wilmington, NC. He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, David Grant, Sr. and Sandra Grant; his son, Brian DyQuan Grant; four siblings: Dawn (Darone) McDowell, Vanessa Grant (affectionately known as his “second mother”), David Grant, Jr. of Charlotte, NC and Thomas (Taquana) Grant. Six nieces and nephews: Kynnedy, Khloe, Kywan, Thomas, Micah and Christian, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends: Kevin Spears, Tyaan Joye and Tyshawn Joye, Dontarius Bellamy, Tyron Seabrook, Dennis Christopher Dykes, Marcus Boynton, Arjay Brown, Shawn Brown, Willie Miller, Deon Mayo and Eric Atwood. Anderson McCrimmon of Wilmington died Friday, July 20, 2012 at Conway Medical Center, Conway, SC. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, 504 Evans Street. Burial followed in Calvary Memorial Cemetery. Anderson McCrimmon, son of the late Johnnie and Beatrice Ivey McCrimmon, was born March 26, 1922. He was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice McCrimmon and one brother, Willie McCloud. Anderson was in the armed forces and after his tour of duty, he worked at various jobs. He left Clio, South Carolina and moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. Anderson married Earline Grissett of which one daughter, Wanda Jean McCrimmon was born. Later in life he married Marion Christine Armstrong, who preceded him in death. He was a long-time employee of Needham Hall Roofing Company, from which he retired. Anderson was a faithful member of Mount Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained until his death. He was very helpful in any services he could provide for the church. Very quiet and soft spoken, you could depend on him if he gave you his word or a promise. Anderson leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Wanda Jean Dawson of Conway, SC; three grandsons, Shawn, Jamon and Andre; granddaughter, Felecia; great-grandchildren, Joshia, Sarah, Lydia and Jamon; sisters-in-law, Vera Mae McCloud of Marion, SC, Dorothy Armstrong, Mary Malloy and Vernell Lucas, of Wilmington, NC and Geraldine Armstrong (care assistant) of Castle Hayne, NC; brothers-in-law, Oscar Armstrong, and John Henry Armstrong of Wilmington, NC and LeVern Armstrong of Castle Hayne, NC; nieces, nephews from Marion, SC, Virginia, Charlotte and Wilmington, NC. Geraldine Sidberry died Friday, July 20, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Harrison Creek Community, Rocky Point, NC. Burial followed in the Harrison Creek Community Cemetery, Rocky Point, NC. She was born on July 26, 1936, to the late Walter and Deliah Sidberry, in the Harrison Creek Community, Rocky Point, North Carolina. Having to help her family, she left school in her primary years. Geraldine migrated to New York City, New York with her eldest daughter, in 1958. There she became a domestic worker. In 1980, she worked as a home attendent. Having a heart for people, she excelled at her job and was nominated for the New York City Home Attendant of the Year in 1996. She retired in 1999 and lent herself to the care of her great-grandchildren; always available and willing to help. Geraldine leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Saundra of Brooklyn, NY, Gregory of Tampa, FL, James and Nathaniel of Brooklyn, NY and Melody of New York City, NY; eight grandchildren, Latisha, Gregory, Jessica, Alexandra, Jermaine, Devon, Shaunte and Taylor; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph and a host of other relatives and friends.
